Old exhaust on my Trans Am on a cold morning
Просмотров 11 тыс.17 лет назад
A relative recorded this on a cold morning, this is the system that was on the car when I first bought it. Although it sounded awesome, it was too loud (109 dB) for Australian road registration and the look of the resonators (incorrectly installed) did not suit a Trans Am! I now have a single system for the time being, but it will be replaced with a dual twin system very soon ... Those QLD numb...

    The VF commodore in 2013 retains so many parts inside and out from the VE model, which includes doors, windows, above door trim panel, mirrors, both windscreens, heaps of underbody and engine bay pieces. That’s how revolutionary the VE was. Some of its styling and engineering lasted 2 generations and 11 years.

    • @None-kv7sd
      @None-kv7sd 3 месяца назад

      The VF is basically a facelifted VE. They are essentially the same car but different interior and different exterior. The body, running gear and drivetrain are identical.

    Complain about non-viable business model but have engine plant in Melbs and have to transport to SA. These cars fall apart after a few years and were thirsty af. Couldn’t sell this type of car these days

  • @mvg2x34

    I thought domestic vehicle production in Australia ended? I hope that the plant and equipment was resold somewhere.

    Perhaps Holden could have survived if they had adaopted a 'austerity car approach' like VW, Renault and Citroen where they stuck with one body style for 20 years? One engine option, one trim option, limited paint options? Many family customers are probably more interested in a cheap affordable, economical car, than racing stripes!

    Holden doesnt exist anymore because Consumers DID NOT WANT big heavy RWD 4 dr Sedans anymore like the Bogandore...same as the Falcon...the market shifted and they did not...simple as that

      Yep, now those same people drive suvs that are bigger, heavier, need a crane to access the engine compartment, have less room than a station wagon, get far worse fuel economy, have more expensive replacement parts, are very hard to see out of, have much bigger tyres and wheels.

      I heard one excuse was the tastes of Australian motorists had changed and were more focused on Euro and Japanese cars - or smaller cars. Large sedans aren't as popular any longer. Looking at what's on the roads these days and I'd tend to agree, it's either 4x4 utes, Camrys, or some Euro model. Though I think it was mainly commercial though as manufacturing in Australia has been on the decline for so many decades and the costs were probably dissuasive. This isn't the first time a high profile entity here has gone under.

My ute is between 2007=20011 series 2 and I bought it for AU 18k and have spent 6k trying to get it reliable and still spending so right now its at the mechanics AGAIN and it's had 3 tow truck rides so buy a Ford instead more reliable lest costly to fix and you would be a more happier driver as I have owned fords all my life
